Granite supplier for kitchens and baths

Cook a lot and want a top that handles heat? Granite is a natural stone, so every slab has a one of a kind pattern, and it stands up very well to heat. Because it is natural it is porous, so it should be sealed now and then. That is a quick task, not a chore. We source granite through suppliers like Leadstone, Stone Park USA, Alleanza Quartz and Earth Stone and Tile, so you have a broad selection of colors and patterns to choose from. If you have a slab or a photo in mind, bring it and we will help you find the closest match. See our granite and quartz countertops.

Marble supplier for baths, fireplaces and backsplashes

Love the look of marble but worried it will stain? That is a fair question. Marble has the soft, classic look many people picture in a fine bath or around a fireplace. It is softer and more porous than granite or quartz, so lemon, wine and tomato sauce can etch and stain it with daily kitchen use. We help you weigh where marble suits your home and where another stone will serve you better. Marble is a favorite for fireplace facades, mantels and hearths, for full height backsplashes, and, sealed and cared for, for a shower seat. See our stone fireplace surrounds, stone backsplashes and shower seats and thresholds.

Natural stone supplier, plus engineered quartz

Quartz and quartzite sound alike, and they are not the same thing. Quartz is engineered. It is ground natural quartz bound with resin, which is why it is non-porous and never needs sealing. Quartzite is a natural stone quarried in slabs like granite. It is harder than granite and very resistant to scratching, with veining closer to marble. Because it is natural it is porous and should be sealed. If you want the look of marble in a kitchen that actually gets used, quartzite is usually where people land. We go over care tips for whatever material you choose. Compare all four on our quartz and quartzite countertops page.

Stone fireplace facades, mantels and hearths

Tired of looking at a 1970s brick fireplace? A stone fireplace is three pieces doing three jobs. The facade is the face around the opening, the hearth is the floor in front of it, and the mantel is the shelf, designed around the firebox rather than chosen first. Refacing is the request we hear most: slab stone goes over the dated brick, the mantel and hearth are rebuilt to suit it, and the living room changes character without a demolition. Natural marble and granite take the warmth off a firebox without complaint, and we keep quartz clear of direct high heat. See our stone fireplace facades and mantels.

Stone backsplashes, shower seats and thresholds

Hate scrubbing grout behind the stove? A full height backsplash runs from the counter to the underside of the wall cabinets, and cut from the same slab as the countertop, the veining carries straight up the wall with no grout line to clean. In the bath, a stone shower seat is one solid bench with no grout in the wettest part of the room, and a threshold cut to the exact opening and pitched toward the drain keeps the water in the shower. Granite asks the least of you in a wet space, and sealed marble gives the spa look. See our stone backsplashes and shower seats and thresholds.

Good to know

Common countertop questions

Is quartz or marble better for a kitchen?

For a hard working kitchen most people are happier with quartz. It resists stains and scratches and does not react to acidic foods like lemon or wine. Marble is softer and more porous, so it can etch and stain with daily kitchen use. Marble is stunning and many homeowners still choose it for the look, but it asks for more care. We help you weigh that trade off for how you actually cook.

Can I set a hot pan on quartz or granite?

Granite handles heat very well, though a trivet is still smart to protect the sealer. Quartz can be discolored by sudden high heat because of the resin that binds it, so we recommend a trivet or hot pad with quartz. We go over care tips for whatever material you choose.

What is the difference between quartz and quartzite?

They sound alike and they are not the same thing. Quartz is engineered, ground natural quartz bound with resin, which is why it is non-porous and never needs sealing. Quartzite is a natural stone quarried in slabs like granite, harder than granite and very resistant to scratching, with veining closer to marble. Because it is natural it is porous and should be sealed. If you want the look of marble in a kitchen that actually gets used, quartzite is usually where people land.

Can you match a specific color or slab I have in mind?

In most cases yes. Through our suppliers, including Leadstone, Stone Park USA, Alleanza Quartz and Earth Stone and Tile, we have access to a wide range of colors and patterns. If you have a slab or a photo in mind, bring it and we will help you find the closest match.

Where will the seams go?

We lay the pieces out on the slab before anything is cut, so a seam lands where it is least visible and the veining carries across it. A straight run under about ten feet usually comes in one piece, an L shape gets one seam at the corner, and on a long island two slabs from the same block can be book matched so the pattern mirrors at the joint. We go over the layout with you before fabrication starts.

What happens on template day?

Once the cabinets are set, we template the room itself, because a wall is rarely as square as a drawing says it is. The template captures the real shape of the space, the sink, cooktop and faucet openings are planned from it, and the tops are fabricated to fit. Install day is then placement, seams and sealing rather than cutting in your kitchen.

Where is your showroom and what can I see there?

Our showroom is at 7034 Black Horse Pike in Pleasantville, NJ 08232, open Mon to Fri 10am to 5pm, Sat 10am to 2pm, Sun closed. Come in to see granite, quartz and marble in person, compare colors and edge options, and talk through what suits your kitchen or bath.

What should I bring to the showroom?

A cabinet drawing or a sketch with rough measurements, a photo of the room, and a cabinet door sample or paint chip. A photo of the flooring helps, and so does a picture of a kitchen or bath you like. With those we can match stone to the room, go over edge profiles and talk through where the seams will fall, all in one visit.

Which South Jersey towns do you serve?

We cover the shore corridor from Cape May up through the Point Pleasant Beach area, the Absecon Island towns, and inland across Camden and Burlington County as far as Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Moorestown and Mount Laurel. The lists on this page name the towns we work in most often.

Do you work with general contractors?

We work with both homeowners and general contractors. If you have a contractor or builder, we fabricate to spec and coordinate templating, delivery and scheduling directly with their team. If you do not, we handle the installation through our affiliated licensed contractor, so your project still runs as one job from first measurement to finished install.
