Bay Head calls itself a country village by the sea, and most of it is a 440 acre historic district: hundreds of Shingle Style, Queen Anne and Colonial Revival houses put up from 1877 into the 1930s, the earliest of them by the architect Wilson Eyre, on lots that run from the village around Twilight Lake and the train station out to the ocean. East Avenue is the oceanfront, and there is no boardwalk, so the houses sit straight onto the beach, with the older summer estates alongside newer custom homes designed to match them and a few older houses that have been raised and rebuilt. Lake Avenue and the streets toward Barnegat Bay carry the same mix. Most of these houses stay in a family for generations, which is why the typical Bay Head project is a kitchen and baths brought up to date inside a house whose outside is not going to change. We fabricate and install granite, quartz and marble countertops, backsplashes, fireplaces and shower stonework for exactly that kind of work.

We work with Bay Head owners and with the builders, designers and architects who know these houses, and the brief is usually the same: a modern kitchen that respects a century old frame, a big island where a service kitchen used to be, and stone in the primary bath that suits the age of the house.
